Music Ministry
Our church is blessed to have an amazing music minister who truly loves his job. There are several ways to volunteer within our music ministry such as singing in our church choir, singing solos or in ensembles, playing instruments on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights, or participating in special events.

Night of Worship
Occasionally, throughout the year, we have a special evening service called, “Night of Worship.” This is a time for people to come and sing solos, duos, trios, etc. and worship the Lord. It is a fun time for our church family because we get to hear very talented musicians perform throughout the night.

Christmas Musical
Every year around Christmas our music ministry puts on a Christmas Musical. This event will put you in the Christmas spirit as we celebrate the reason for the season. If you are not part of the choir but would like to be part of this special event, contact Kevin Butler at 832-493-5965.

Minister of Music, FBC Jewett
Biography
Kevin Butler has served as the Worship Minister at First Baptist Church Jewett since September of 2014. On Sunday mornings, he orchestrates multi-generational worship services that unite the congregation in praise, blending traditional and contemporary elements to engage worshippers of all ages. He leads the praise team from the piano and directs the adult choir that meets regularly on Sunday afternoons.
On Wednesday nights, he leads youth and children’s worship as he strives to encourage the next generation to grow in their faith through music and meaningful worship experiences.
In addition to his musical responsibilities, Kevin teaches J-Walkers, a young adult Bible study group that guides young adults in their spiritual journey by fostering community and helping them apply Biblical truths to their everyday lives.
Kevin and his wife Cynthia minister together in many areas of the church, and together raise their daughter Melody, who shares in their musical and spiritual pursuits.
Outside of his church roles, Kevin relaxes by watching movies and playing strategy board games.
